This Cookie & Tracking Technologies Policy ("Cookie Policy") explains how GQ VENTURES SAS, trading as FARENIO ("FARENIO", "we", "our" or "us"), uses cookies and similar tracking technologies across the FARENIO Ecosystem.

This Policy should be read together with FARENIO's:

  • Privacy Policy;
  • Terms & Conditions (CGU/CGV);
  • Data Processing Agreement, where applicable.

ARTICLE 1 – PURPOSE

This Cookie Policy explains:

  • The Cookies And Similar Technologies Used Within The FARENIO Ecosystem;
  • The Purposes For Which They Are Used;
  • Which Technologies Require Prior Consent;
  • Which Technologies May Be Exempt From Consent;
  • The Third Parties That May Receive Information Through Such Technologies;
  • Applicable Retention Periods;
  • How Users May Accept, Refuse, Modify Or Withdraw Their Choices.

FARENIO manages cookies and similar technologies in accordance with applicable European and French data-protection and electronic-communications requirements, including the GDPR and Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (*Loi Informatique et Libertés*).

ARTICLE 2 – SCOPE

This Policy applies, where relevant, to tracking technologies implemented through:

  • www.farenio.com;
  • The FARENIO Marketplace;
  • Host Portal;
  • Cleaner/Service Provider Portal;
  • Vendor Portal;
  • Other authenticated user portals;
  • FARENIO mobile applications;
  • Customer-support interfaces;
  • Embedded third-party services;
  • APIs or integrations where information is stored on or accessed from a user's terminal.

The applicable technologies may differ according to the FARENIO service, portal, device or application being used.

ARTICLE 3 – COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

A cookie is information stored on or accessed from a user's terminal, including a computer, smartphone or tablet.

On the FARENIO website, tracking technologies include, according to the technology currently deployed:

  • HTTP cookies used for essential website and account functions;
  • Browser local storage or session storage where used by the Platform;
  • Google Tag Manager for management and controlled deployment of website tags;
  • Meta Pixel for advertising measurement and conversion-related purposes;
  • Technologies required to operate secure payment functionality where such Technologies are loaded in connection with a payment operation;
  • Consent-preference storage required to record and apply the user's cookie choices.

For purposes of this Policy, cookies, pixels, browser storage, tags and other technologies capable of storing information on, or accessing information from, a user's terminal are collectively referred to as "Trackers".

The legal treatment of a Tracker depends on its purpose and actual operation rather than its technical name or whether it is a first-party or third-party technology.

ARTICLE 4 – STRICTLY NECESSARY TRACKERS

FARENIO may use Trackers that are strictly necessary for providing a service expressly requested by the user or for enabling electronic communications.

These may include Trackers necessary for:

  • Account Authentication;
  • Maintaining Authenticated Sessions;
  • Security And Access Controls;
  • Fraud And Abuse Prevention;
  • Load Balancing;
  • Shopping Or Booking Functionality;
  • Transaction Processing;
  • Remembering The User's Cookie Choices;
  • Maintaining Essential Platform Functionality;
  • Storing Interface Preferences Where These Form An Intrinsic And Expected Part Of The Service.

Where a Tracker satisfies the applicable statutory conditions for exemption, prior consent is not required.

FARENIO shall not classify a Tracker as "strictly necessary" merely because it is commercially useful or improves the general performance of the business.

ARTICLE 5 – FUNCTIONAL AND PERSONALISATION TRACKERS

Functional Trackers may enable optional functionality or personalisation, including:

  • Language Preferences;
  • Time-Zone Preferences;
  • Dashboard Configuration;
  • Interface Settings;
  • Accessibility Settings;
  • Other Optional User Preferences.

Where such a Tracker is not strictly necessary for a functionality expressly requested by the user, it will only be activated after obtaining the user's consent.

ARTICLE 6 – AUDIENCE MEASUREMENT AND ANALYTICS

FARENIO uses audience-measurement technologies only in accordance with the consent status applicable to the relevant technology and its configuration.

Where an analytics or audience-measurement technology requires consent, it shall remain disabled until the user has provided valid consent through the FARENIO Cookie Preference Centre.

FARENIO may operate an audience-measurement solution without prior consent only where its actual configuration satisfies the conditions for exemption under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and applicable CNIL guidance.

To qualify for such exemption, the relevant technology must, in particular:

  • Be Strictly Limited To Measuring The Audience Of The FARENIO Website For FARENIO'S Exclusive Benefit;
  • Be Limited To Purposes Necessary For Measuring Website Performance, Detecting Navigation Problems, Optimising Technical Performance Or Ergonomics, Or Producing Comparable Website-Usage Statistics;
  • Produce Only Anonymous Statistical Data;
  • Not Permit Tracking Of The User Across Unrelated Websites Or Services;
  • Not Combine The Collected Information With Other Datasets For Advertising, Profiling Or Incompatible Purposes;
  • Not Transmit Non-Anonymous Information To Third Parties For Their Own Purposes; And
  • Comply With The Retention Limitations Specified in Article 18.

A technology shall not be treated as exempt merely because it is described as an analytics tool or because identifiers have been pseudonymised.

ARTICLE 7 – PERFORMANCE AND TECHNICAL MONITORING

FARENIO may use technical monitoring technologies for purposes including:

  • Detecting Application Errors;
  • Monitoring System Availability;
  • Maintaining Security;
  • Diagnosing Technical Failures;
  • Measuring Infrastructure Performance;
  • Ensuring Service Reliability.

Where such technologies access or store information on a user's terminal and are not strictly necessary for providing the requested service, they will only operate after the required consent has been obtained.

ARTICLE 8 – MARKETING AND ADVERTISING TRACKERS

FARENIO currently deploys the Meta Pixel through its website technology stack for advertising measurement and related conversion purposes.

The Meta Pixel is classified as a Marketing Tracker and shall not be activated before the user has provided valid consent for the relevant advertising or marketing purpose.

Depending on the user's consent and the configuration implemented by FARENIO, Meta Pixel may process information relating to website visits and interactions for purposes including:

  • Measuring Advertising Performance;
  • Measuring Conversions;
  • Attributing Registrations, Bookings Or Other Relevant Actions To Advertising Campaigns;
  • Understanding Campaign Effectiveness; And
  • Creating Or Measuring Advertising audiences where enabled.

Refusing Marketing Trackers shall not prevent access to ordinary FARENIO website functionality that does not depend upon those Trackers.

FARENIO shall not activate additional advertising platforms or pixels under generic wording in this Policy. Any material new advertising Tracker shall be added to the cookie inventory and, where required, presented through the Cookie Preference Centre before activation.

ARTICLE 9 – SOCIAL MEDIA AND EMBEDDED CONTENT

FARENIO may integrate functionality or content provided by third parties, including social networks, maps, videos, communication services or other embedded services.

Where accessing such content would cause a third party to read or write non-essential Trackers on the user's terminal, the relevant content or Tracker shall remain blocked until the user has provided the required consent.

Users shall be informed of the relevant third party and purpose through the Cookie Preference Centre or cookie inventory.

ARTICLE 10 – TAG MANAGEMENT

FARENIO uses Google Tag Manager, currently deployed through container GTM-M6NPGVL5, to manage website tags.

Google Tag Manager is a tag-management technology and its presence does not constitute consent to any Tracker deployed through it.

FARENIO shall configure Google Tag Manager and the FARENIO consent-management architecture so that any tag requiring consent, including advertising or other non-essential tracking technologies, is prevented from reading or writing information on the user's terminal before the corresponding consent has been obtained.

A consent-dependent tag shall not be treated as compliant merely because it is technically delivered through Google Tag Manager.

Withdrawal of consent shall prevent subsequent activation of the affected consent-dependent tags.

ARTICLE 11 – AI AND OPERATIONAL ANALYTICS

FARENIO may analyse Platform usage for purposes including:

  • Workflow Optimisation;
  • Scheduling;
  • Service Reliability;
  • Product Development;
  • Platform Usability;
  • Improvement Of AI-Assisted Functionality.

Where these activities rely on Trackers requiring consent, those Trackers will not be activated until valid consent has been obtained.

Cookie consent shall not be treated as consent to unrelated processing of personal data for artificial-intelligence training, profiling or automated decision-making.

Such processing, where applicable, shall be governed separately by FARENIO's Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection requirements.

ARTICLE 12 – THIRD-PARTY TECHNOLOGIES

FARENIO uses selected third-party technologies to support the secure operation, measurement, payment functionality and promotion of its website and digital services.

The technologies currently deployed on the FARENIO website include the following:

Google Tag Manager

Provider: Google

Technology: Google Tag Manager

Purpose: Tag management and controlled deployment of website technologies.

Google Tag Manager enables FARENIO to manage and deploy certain website tags and scripts in a structured manner.

The use of Google Tag Manager does not override the consent requirements applicable to technologies deployed through it. Where a tag or Tracker requires prior consent, it will only be activated in accordance with the user's consent preferences.

Meta Pixel

Provider: Meta Platforms

Technology: Meta Pixel

Category: Marketing

Purpose: Advertising measurement, campaign attribution and evaluation of marketing performance.

The Meta Pixel is used only where the user has provided the required prior consent. Users may refuse or withdraw their consent to marketing technologies at any time through FARENIO's Cookie Preference Centre.

Stripe

Provider: Stripe

Purpose: Payment processing, payment security, fraud prevention and associated functionality used during the payment process.

FARENIO uses Stripe to facilitate secure payments through the FARENIO Ecosystem.

Technologies deployed by Stripe are classified according to their actual purpose. Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a payment service expressly requested by the user may operate without prior consent where permitted by applicable law.

Where Stripe technologies are used for analytics, advertising or another purpose that is not strictly necessary to provide the requested payment functionality, the applicable consent requirements will apply.

Third-Party Privacy Information

FARENIO's Cookie Preference Centre provides users with information concerning the categories and purposes of Trackers used on the website and, where applicable, access to relevant information concerning third-party technology providers.

Users can use the Cookie Preference Centre to review and modify their consent choices at any time.

Changes to Third-Party Technologies

FARENIO periodically reviews the technologies deployed across its website and digital services.

This Policy and FARENIO's operational cookie and Tracker inventory will be updated where a third-party technology is introduced, removed or materially reconfigured, or where an update is otherwise required to maintain accurate and transparent information regarding the processing of user data.

ARTICLE 13 – COOKIE INVENTORY

The following inventory reflects technologies identified in the current FARENIO web environment. The operational Cookie Preference Centre shall maintain the definitive production inventory, including individual cookies dynamically created by those technologies.

Inventory accuracy

FARENIO shall not describe a technology as deployed unless it is actually implemented in the production web environment.

Conversely, no cookie, local-storage identifier, pixel, tag or equivalent Tracker shall be intentionally deployed in production without:

  1. Being Recorded In FARENIO'S Internal Tracker Register;
  2. Being Assigned a Documented Purpose And Category;
  3. Having Its Consent Requirement Determined;
  4. Being Technically Connected To The Appropriate Cmp Consent Signal Where Consent Is Required; And
  5. Being Reflected In The Cookie Preference Centre Where User Information Is Required.

The inventory shall be reviewed following any material website deployment, advertising-tag change, analytics implementation, CMP change or Google Tag Manager publication.

ARTICLE 14 – CONSENT MANAGEMENT

Where consent is required, FARENIO shall obtain it before the relevant Tracker is activated.

The first layer of the FARENIO Cookie Consent interface shall provide clear and readily accessible mechanisms enabling the user to:

  • Accept non-essential Cookies;
  • Reject non-essential Cookies; and
  • Customise choices.

Acceptance and refusal shall be presented in a manner that provides substantially equivalent accessibility and does not use deceptive or manipulative interface practices.

Silence, inactivity, scrolling, closing the consent interface or merely continuing to browse does not constitute consent.

Until a valid affirmative choice has been made, consent-dependent Trackers shall remain disabled.

In particular, FARENIO's Meta Pixel and any other advertising or marketing Tracker shall not be activated merely because a user accesses a FARENIO webpage.

ARTICLE 15 – GRANULAR COOKIE PREFERENCES

Where applicable, the Cookie Preference Centre will enable users to make choices according to the purposes or categories of Trackers used by FARENIO.

Strictly necessary Trackers will remain active where legally exempt from consent.

Non-essential categories shall remain disabled unless the user has consented to them.

FARENIO shall not infer consent to one purpose from consent given for a materially different purpose.

ARTICLE 16 – WITHDRAWAL AND MODIFICATION OF CONSENT

Users may withdraw or modify their consent at any time through an accessible Cookie Settings, Manage Cookies or equivalent control made available through the FARENIO Platform.

Withdrawing consent shall be as straightforward as granting it.

Withdrawal shall prevent subsequent use of the affected consent-based Trackers.

Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before the withdrawal.

Where technically possible and appropriate, Trackers no longer authorised will be deleted or disabled.

ARTICLE 17 – RECORD OF COOKIE CHOICES

FARENIO retains information necessary to record and implement the user's cookie preferences and, where applicable, demonstrate that valid consent was obtained.

The consent record may contain:

  • The Consent Status;
  • The Purposes Or Categories Accepted Or Refused;
  • The Date And Time Of The Choice;
  • The Applicable Consent-Policy or CMP version;
  • a Consent Identifier Where Necessary; And
  • Information Necessary To Determine Whether The Preference Applies To The Relevant Browser Or, Where Article 17A applies, to the authenticated FARENIO account.

As an implementation standard, FARENIO shall normally retain the user's cookie choice for approximately six months before requesting a renewed choice.

FARENIO may request a new choice earlier where:

  • A new consent-requiring purpose is introduced;
  • The identity of relevant third parties materially changes;
  • The scope of processing materially changes;
  • The CMP architecture materially changes; or
  • Renewed consent is otherwise required by applicable law or CNIL guidance.

ARTICLE 17A – MULTI-DEVICE CONSENT FOR AUTHENTICATED FARENIO ACCOUNTS

Where FARENIO implements account-level cookie preferences for authenticated users, FARENIO may enable a user's consent choices to apply across browsers or devices connected to the same authenticated FARENIO account.

Before applying such multi-device consent, FARENIO shall clearly inform the user, at the consent-interface level, that the choice will apply to other devices or browsers connected to the same account.

Where a user is permitted to consent across devices, the user shall also be able to refuse or withdraw consent with equivalent scope and simplicity.

When an authenticated user accesses FARENIO from a new device or browser, FARENIO should provide a clear temporary notice indicating that the cookie preferences associated with the user's account are being applied to that device.

Where preferences expressed on a device before authentication differ from preferences already associated with the authenticated FARENIO account, FARENIO shall apply a documented and transparent conflict-resolution rule. FARENIO shall either:

  • Apply the user's most recent valid choice; or
  • Apply the account-level preference,

provided that the selected method is clearly communicated to users and applied consistently.

FARENIO shall not interpret authentication itself as consent to Trackers.

Multi-device consent shall only concern the purposes and Trackers properly covered by the consent originally obtained. Introduction of a materially different purpose requiring consent shall require a new valid consent.

Users shall remain able to review and modify their applicable choices through the FARENIO Cookie Preference Centre.

ARTICLE 18 – TRACKER AND DATA RETENTION

FARENIO applies retention periods appropriate to the documented purpose of each Tracker.

Session Trackers expire when the relevant session terminates or when they are no longer technically required.

Persistent Trackers shall be retained only for the period necessary for their documented purpose.

CNIL audience-measurement exemption

Where FARENIO relies on the French exemption from prior consent for qualifying audience-measurement Trackers:

  • The lifetime of the audience-measurement Tracker shall not exceed thirteen (13) months;
  • That lifetime shall not be automatically extended by subsequent visits by the user;
  • Information collected through the qualifying audience-measurement Tracker shall be retained for a maximum of twenty-five (25) months; and
  • Both periods shall be periodically reviewed and reduced where a shorter period is sufficient for the relevant measurement purpose.

Compliance with the 13-month and 25-month limits does not, by itself, make an analytics technology exempt from consent. All other conditions applicable to the CNIL audience-measurement exemption must also be satisfied.

Marketing, advertising and other consent-dependent Trackers shall be subject to the specific retention periods applicable to the technologies actually deployed and shall be identified in the operational cookie inventory.

FARENIO shall not use indefinite or automatically renewable Tracker retention periods where these are not necessary for the documented purpose.

ARTICLE 19 – MOBILE APPLICATIONS AND SDKs

This Policy applies to technologies used through the FARENIO website that store information on, or access information from, a user's browser or terminal, regardless of whether the technology technically constitutes an HTTP cookie.

Accordingly, the same consent principles apply, where relevant, to:

  • Local Storage;
  • Session Storage;
  • Pixels;
  • Browser Identifiers;
  • Tags; And
  • Equivalent Web Tracking Technologies.

Replacing a cookie with local storage, a pixel or another technical mechanism does not remove the requirement to obtain prior consent where Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act applies.

ARTICLE 20 – BROWSER SETTINGS

Users may additionally control certain Cookies through their browser or device settings.

Browser-level blocking may affect some Platform functionality.

Browser settings do not replace FARENIO's obligation to obtain prior consent where consent is legally required.

ARTICLE 21 – GLOBAL PRIVACY AND BROWSER SIGNALS

FARENIO may recognise technically supported browser or device privacy signals where required by applicable law.

The absence of a recognised browser privacy signal shall not be interpreted as consent to non-essential Trackers.

ARTICLE 22 – INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Certain third-party technology providers may process information outside the European Economic Area.

Where personal data collected through Trackers is transferred internationally, FARENIO shall ensure that an appropriate transfer mechanism and applicable safeguards are in place in accordance with the GDPR.

Cookie consent does not, by itself, remove FARENIO's obligations concerning international transfers of personal data.

Further information regarding international transfers is provided in FARENIO's Privacy Policy where applicable.

ARTICLE 23 – SECURITY

FARENIO implements appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect information collected through Trackers against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or misuse.

Where technically appropriate, security measures may include:

  • Secure and HTTP only cookie attributes;
  • appropriate SameSite configuration;
  • HTTPS transmission;
  • Restricted Cookie Scope;
  • Access Controls;
  • Tag Governance;
  • Periodic Tracker Audits.

ARTICLE 24 – CHANGES TO TRACKERS AND THIS POLICY

FARENIO may update this Policy where necessary to reflect:

  • Changes in applicable legislation or regulatory guidance;
  • Introduction or removal of Trackers;
  • New Platform functionality;
  • Changes in third-party technology providers;
  • Changes in processing purposes;
  • Changes to FARENIO's consent-management architecture.

Where a change introduces a new purpose requiring consent, FARENIO shall obtain the required consent before activating Trackers for that purpose.

The date of the latest revision shall be displayed at the beginning of this Policy.

ARTICLE 26 – USER CHOICE

Use of the FARENIO website does not constitute consent to non-essential Trackers.

Where consent is legally required, the user's choice is established only through the FARENIO consent mechanism or another legally valid affirmative mechanism.

Users remain free to refuse non-essential Trackers without losing access to website functions that do not objectively depend on those Trackers.

Users may subsequently modify or withdraw consent through a permanently accessible Cookie Settings, Manage Cookies or equivalent control.

For authenticated accounts where FARENIO implements multi-device consent in accordance with Article 17A, users shall be clearly informed of the scope of the choice and shall be able to withdraw or modify that choice with equivalent multi-device effect.
